Infinity Mirrors - Poster Concept
Yayoi Kusama is a renowned artists most commonly known for her works of art that feature six rooms. These six rooms feature mirrors that run along walls and giant objects painted in lots of dots.
In my Communication Design 2 class I was given the challenge of picking an exhibition that was currently happening and rebranding it. Part of the task was to create posters that featured a representational aspect. Yayoi’s works of art are extremely personal and feature elements of her life that aren’t noticed at first glance. I wanted to capture these human elements and decided to use a hand as the main aspect of the posters visual. A hand is the easiest way to convey human touch and emotion. I then paired these with her famous dots that are a representation of the hallucinations she constantly faces.
